Masks

Another fabulous drama session with Stacey from Applied Theatre this time with a poetry focus.
After discussion, freeze frames, role on the wall, panel hot seating and a written activity the class were given only 3 minutes to collaborate and recreate a poem using the same theme... the level of engagement was inspiring and the results... breathtaking.

Science @ Tech

Our first experiment...
Food colouring burst away from the detergent, twisting and turning in the milk. All the colours merged!

Our Conclusion: the detergent splits the up the fat molecules and they shoot around, pushing the food colouring as they go. The detergent splits the molecules into little tiny pieces.

This makes it easier to clean up... or in other words wash the dishes!!

Summer Learning Journey

Today we celebrated the success of our St Patrick's students who were involved in the Summer Learning Journey. As many students luxuriated at the beach or pool these students continued their learning, reading and responding to activities. They were also blogging their work and commenting on the blogs of their peers (also on the same journey). Room 8 would like to congratulate our winner, Roneeza and also our second and third students Anamaria and Ida. Participation went to Augustine, Mo'onia and Aleenah. Well done! Room 8 is so proud of your effort and your positive attitude towards learning!

Cricket

Room 7 and 8 had a wonderful morning practising their cricket skills and enjoying each others company. It was great to see the team spirit and camaraderie between both classes. Spending time together is the best part of school life... times that we will always remember!
